Our clients approached Architectural Home Solutions to investigate potential proposals for improving and modernising their home. The house is a traditional Edwardian family house, with spacious rooms with large floor to ceiling heights.
The design for the internal refurbishment provided additional ensuite accommodation as well as providing a permanent access into the roof space, without compromising the character of the home.
A list of precedents were tabled to get a feel of the type of extension that could be provided. The client was keen to follow a modern approach and we therefore established a ‘kit of parts’ from books and magazine cuttings to form the design brief.
A number of sketches were provided illustrating how the various components could be put together.These options were critical in finalising the approved design which was then drawn up for planning.
